  Northeast & Amazon Entry

  Fly into Recife (direct from Europe) → Northeast coast → Amazon region → inland or south

  Recife and Fortaleza take direct flights from Lisbon, Madrid and Paris — often cheaper than São Paulo — and put you straight on the warmest, cheapest coast in Brazil before you head into the Amazon.

  South Border Entry

  Enter via Foz do Iguaçu → the falls → north or west into Argentina, Paraguay, Chile, Peru, Bolivia

  Foz do Iguaçu is a triple border. One arrival gives you three countries on foot, and it is the natural launch point for the Pantanal, Bolivia, the Salt Flats, Atacama and Peru without ever flying again.
